Delaware Avenue Gateway
and Streetscape

The Delaware Avenue Gateway project area, approximately fifteen city blocks, includes a main entrance to downtown Wilmington from Interstate 95. LRSLA prepared alternative illustrative designs for review by neighborhood civic associations and governmental agencies. In addition to making a more attractive and safe pedestrian environment, the project provided an opportunity to continue our research into the methods that allow street trees to thrive in urban environments.
